Malaysia Packaging Industry Berhad or Maypak as the Company is more commonly known was established on 17 March 1975 and granted Pioneer Status for the manufacture of flexible light packaging materials.

Since its inception, Maypak has led the local converting industry by being listed on the Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (then known as the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange) in 1990 and obtained SIRIM's certification of its ISO 9001 Quality Management System in 1995 and the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System in 2000.

This commitment and quest for continuous improvement has guided Maypak to provide high quality flexible packaging materials to a wide cross-section of industries.

Besides manufacturing conventional packaging products, Maypak produces special application packaging for the medical, prophylactics, pharmaceutical, special food, seasoning and electronic industry.

Maypak has its origins as a joint-venture project between Malaysian and Japanese partners. This partnership has enabled the transfer of Japanese production management systems like, 5-S and KAIZEN to ensure total customer satisfaction.

As part of the Company's commitment to environmental protection and corporate social responsibility, it changed its waste water treatment system in 2002 to one using "Cleaner Technology".

Well trained staff backed by years of experience and technical expertise in the converting industry has earned the Company a reputation for quality, reliability and versatility to meet customers' changing demands and requirement for new product development and applications.

On 30 March, 2006, the Company became a subsidiary of Toyo Seikan Kaisha, Ltd., Japan (www.toyo-seikan.co.jp), a leading manufacturer of full range of packaging materials in Japan. The synergistic partnership will ensure further enhancement and development of new technology transfer to Maypak. The strong technical and technology support from TSK will enable Maypak to realize our Mission "To be a Total Package Solution Provider" and to achieve our Vision "To Become ASEAN No. 1 Company for Quality, Cost and Delivery".
